Log 1
There I was. Sitting in a dark endless room. No matter how far I walked, or how fast I ran, I couldn’t find an exit. All I could find was supplies — food, water, tools, even supplies like wood and brick, cables and lights and everything we had in our house, before I was sucked into this weird place. But no exit. It was like a living nightmare. I didn’t give up though. I continued, I walked for days, traveling throughout this strange dark land. I traveled through the land for days, not giving up. One day, I stopped. I couldn’t keep looking for something that I didn’t even know for sure existed. It was like finding that needle in a haystack — except there might not even be a needle in the haystack in the first place. I began to realize that I might as well just permanently stop. I realized there was a chance I was trapped. All I could do now was try to survive. Make a home, and hopefully not die within the first few weeks.
Log 2
You might be thinking, “What was all that about” well, let me tell you. Welcome to this journal, or diary, whichever you want to call it. My name is James, James Anthony. A few weeks ago I was sleeping in my house, in the regular earth dimension, when I heard a noise from outside. A loud one, too. I went outside to inspect and… BAM! I remember seeing stars, millions of them. And purple light, everywhere. It was crazy. Then, I must have blacked out, because when I woke up I was in a strange, dark, gray room. Or, it looked like a room. I got up and started roaming around, looking for a light switch, or a wall. But none of which ever came, I walked forward for about 7 minutes, before tripping on something. And when I looked to see what I tripped on, it was a giant flashlight. One of those heavy-duty ones you find at a hardware store. I picked it up and turned it on, but even with the flashlight, everything was still so dark. I began to run, occasionally tripping on something. But I found nothing but items, like water, food, hardware, and other stuff you would see in the regular earth dimension. But I knew wherever I was, wasn’t earth. And, then comes what you read before. I kept going, believing some sort of exit would appear. I walked and ran for days, but no luck. That’s when I gave up and started trying to build a home, or make a temporary area. Ever since then, things have gone a lot better. I have somehow managed to build a small little hut, with 3 rooms. A living room, bedroom, and storage/washroom. I have begun to analyze things about this dimension, or whatever it is. For instance, it appears this dimension is able to randomly produce things you would find on earth. That’s how I have managed to survive, and build a hut. It’s been a few weeks since I got here, and I am already missing my parents. I have nightmares every night, which are mainly focused on when I entered the dimension, but are not limited to that. I have also discovered that there are strange humanoid creatures that roam around this dimension. They look kind of like humans, wear clothes like humans, but they do not act like humans. I did approach one and attempted to interact with it, but that failed big time. While attempting to interact with the creature, he just looked at me, then looked away. When I grabbed his arms, and tried to bring him to a gaze with me, his eyes got all big and he began to emit a high pitched scream like sound. I immediately ran, not wanting to die to a now-hostile creepy humanoid creature. And let me also just say that these creatures are also super tall. I would say probably 10 feet tall. And when a creature like that emits a sound like that on top of being super tall, it is a recipe for terror and horror. I am getting extremely lonely now, and I don’t know what to do. I have begun to notice several other creatures coming close to my hut area. I attempted to approach another one the other day, but just approaching him he turned into what I like to call “Panic Mode” which is short for saying he emits that high pitch scream.
Log 3
It’s been about a week since my last entry, which was Log 2. Well, Log 1 and 2 were made at the same time, so I guess they were both my first entries. Anyways, I have noticed an increased amount of the creatures appearing around my base. The last time I went outside, there were about 8 of them scattered around my base, but they were close enough that I could see them through the darkness. They were not in any sort of panic mode, they just stood there, occasionally taking a walk around the area. More are coming each day though, but what scares me is how every day when I wake up, they are a little closer to my base. Anyways, you may have noticed that I am saying “Base” instead of “Hut” now. That’s because I have been doing some upgrades to my base. I added 3 more rooms, a complete washroom, a kitchen, and a storage. The kitchen is pretty much a cheap table I got and a microwave, but that works better than nothing. The problem I have is getting my base furnished. I managed to get a table, couch, and a bed in with a cart thing I found. But still, getting things inside my base unless its canned food or water bottles is a pain, not to mention whenever I try to go hunt for things I have to pass the bunch of those creatures that like to surround my base. So getting things now is harder than it should be. Which means living in general is harder than it was before. At the moment I don’t need to worry about food. I have a huge load of it all stored in the storage room. What I need to worry more about is getting clean clothing. Occasionally while hunting for supplies I come across a rack full of shirts and pants and stuff. They’re like the ones you would find in stores. Those types of racks. They have wheels, so I usually stop my hunting when I find one and haul it back to my base. I am still hoping to find a washing machine and soap. Well, mainly just a washing machine, because over my hunting periods I have found a lot of soap; from bottles of soap to bars of soap to shampoo and conditioner. I have found about 3 Tide-brand detergents. Which is a good sign. But judging by the fact that my hunting is getting more limited, it would be amazing to find a washing machine and more detergent now. I can’t keep waiting for clothing carts to appear. Not gonna work. I have also started to find remains of other forts, or bases, even some what appear to be legit houses. Except they are pretty damaged and clearly are not inhabitable. And it makes me more worried about what is gonna happen to me and my base in the future. What if whatever was responsible for damaging these forts and bases so much was those creatures? I guess we will have to wait to find out.
Log 4
A week ago I wrote Log 3. A lot has happened since then. For starters, on closer inspection of those abandoned and damaged forts, there were useful things in there. I found weaponry and armour, most of the weaponry was stuff like spears and swords. But that was good enough for me. I also found what 2 firearms, one of which was what looked like a Glock. But I’m not sure because there are no markings on it to identify what company (If any) made it. I say if any because there’s a 99.9 percent chance that this dimension made it. I also found an M4, but again there were no markings on it except for the safety switch markings. Although I didn’t need any markings on the M4 because I knew it was an M4. I also found 3 boxes of ammunition, 1 of which was pretty small. 2 of the boxes were ammo for the M4, the other was ammo for the pistol. On my first trip inside of the forts and bases I didn’t find much, but I also didn’t go that far into them. I decided to take a second trip inside them because I wanted to find more. And finally, I found a washing machine. Whenever I go on trips or go hunting, I bring my cart to bring stuff back, and luckily I was able to haul the washing machine to my base. Their base also had a stock of detergent, so I was happy to bring it all back. I stuffed the washing machine into my storage room. I was finally able to wash my clothes, and not keep hunting for carts of it. I also began to fortify my base. I attached spears to the walls of it, so if one of the creatures tried to punch my walls or walk into it, they would get stabbed by a spear. Which if they could even feel pain, would hurt incredibly. Speaking of the creatures, some of them are practically feet away from the base. And getting around them to hunt is getting way too hard. So my last few hunts have been focused on food, and food only. I added a second floor to my base, and it only has one room, that room being an armory. It took me a while to build it, because I had to make a lot of structural support. And when I say a lot, I really mean a lot. But it makes sense judging by the fact that most of the base is made with a bunch of wooden pallets. Luckily for me, the wooden pallets found in this dimension are a lot stronger than the ones found back on Earth. Heck, a pallet even remained completely intact when I shot it once with the M4 I found. What confuses me about these pallets though, is that I am able to easily put nails into it and hammer the nails, yet a bullet traveling at who knows what speed is barely able to make a mark on it.
Log 5
It’s been another week since my last log. And something crazy happened. By now I’m sure you know about the creatures found in this place. Well, I was asleep 2 nights ago when I heard a high pitched scream noise which immediately woke me up. I covered my ears and ran to my armory, where I grabbed some chainmail armor I found, the pistol, and a little dagger. I ran downstairs and rushed to open the door, which was pretty brave of me. And there was a few of the creatures who either ran into my spears or tried to attack the spears. Regardless of what they chose, they were clearly in a lot of pain. One of them even collapsed on the ground, and just layed there. Most likely dead (If death is even a thing for them in this dimension) Maybe he was just taking a nap after walking or attacking a spear. After I discovered it was the creatures I thought that for sure the creatures destroyed those bases. Well, damaged the bases. Not completely destroyed. So I made a plan. At the moment I have not finished the plan, however I am close to finishing it. Hopefully I can finish it before it’s too late.
Log 6
A month ago I wrote Log 5. That’s right, a month ago. But it’s because I have been working on completing my plan. Which I still have not told you. The plan was simple: get rid of the creatures surrounding my base, or at least the ones in a 40 feet radius of my base. Which was easier than you would expect, because after the previous attack, most of the remaining ones left to areas farther away from my base. Then I simply just built a wall, which took me all month, but it was worth it. It took a while to get enough wood pallets too, but one thing was for sure: if the creatures came back, they would be having trouble getting past the wall. And that was the plan. And for some reason the creatures have not attacked in a while. They have not even come any closer to my base. I have gone hunting a lot recently, because it’s a lot easier to do it now since there aren’t so many of the creatures hoarding my base. I collected more food and found 2 more detergents. So I’m set for a while. The only problem I have is that those creatures managed to destroy those other forts and bases, and those forts and bases were heavily armored, even more armored than my base. If they could destroy that, then shouldn’t they be able to destroy my base easily?
